Čakovec, Croatia— February 8th, 2025, marked a monumental day for Badminton Club Zadar as they earned their first medal at the Croatian National Championships. The prestigious tournament, held in Čakovec, featured fierce competitions for veterans in the age categories of 35+, 45+, and 55+.
Representing Badminton Zadar , Ana Grginović made her debut in the 35+ category. Competing in both the Women’s Singles (WS) and Mixed Doubles (XD) events, Ana showcased remarkable talent and determination. She teamed up with a partner from BK Concordia, Zagreb, for the Mixed Doubles.
In a historic achievement, Ana clinched the bronze medal in the Women’s Singles category, marking a proud moment not only for Badminton Club Zadar but also for the entire city. This milestone is a testament to the hard work and dedication of both the players and the club.
The Mixed Doubles pairing, despite playing together for the first time, put up a valiant fight. Although they were eliminated in the first knockout round, the match went to three close games, demonstrating their potential and promise for future competitions.
We are incredibly proud of Ana’s achievement and the determination. This milestone is a significant step forward for our club and motivates us to strive for even greater success in the future.
