On December 1, 2024, the vibrant city of Zadar hosted the Dalmatinska Liga 4. Kol Tournament, a thrilling event that brought together 50 young badminton enthusiasts from four clubs: BK Zadar, BK Dubrovnik, BK Split, and BK Iader. The tournament featured competitions in various categories, including WS, WD, MS, and MD, with the U11 category focusing on WS and MS.
Despite having the smallest contingent, BK Zadar’s players delivered remarkable performances, securing several podium finishes. Here are the highlights of their achievements:
- WS U11: Lea Šimurina clinched the 2nd position, showcasing her talent and determination.
- MD U15: Dominik Stipetić, partnering with Antonio Prgoment from Split, secured the 1st place.
- MS U15: Dominik Stipetić also earned a commendable 3rd place.
- WS U19: Franka Antolić achieved a 3rd place finish.
- MD U19: Jakov Bljaić and Dominik Stipetić won the 2nd place.
- WD U19: Franka Antolić and her first-time partner Lucija Videka from Split secured the 2nd place.
As a club, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all the kids who participated and made the tournament an exciting day. The spirit of sportsmanship and the determination to give their best in competition were truly inspiring. Special credit goes to Lea and Mihaela, who showed immense courage by participating in the U13 WD category despite being in U11. This experience will undoubtedly prepare them for future competitions as they move up to the U13 category next year.
